Professional Staging

Staging pays off, if done professionally. According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), professionally staging before listing typically results in the home selling faster and receiving higher offers. Below are a few reasons why.

Buyers have to use their imagination in order to see potential in a home. They need to be able to envision themselves living there. Professionally staging a home will neutralize and depersonalize the home, which will make the home appealing to a wider range of buyers.

An empty home can feel cold and unappealing, while an occupied home may feel cluttered and personable to someone else – both of which are uninviting to potential buyers. Professionally staging will give the home a welcoming appeal which will bring more buyers through the door and embrace their attention once inside.

Occupied Home Using Seller’s Items

Professional staging will visually define the potential and/or purpose of a room in a way that encourages the buyer to envision their own belongings in the space and give the room a purpose that satisfies their own interests.

Professionally staging a home will provide appropriate placement and/or removal of existing furniture which will maximize the potential of each room. Too much furniture or furniture which is too large can make a room visually appear smaller, potentially making buyers feel the area is too small for their belongings. Empty rooms can also leave a buyer wondering if their belongings would fit into the space or how they would arrange their furniture.
